Performance Inhibitor
Performance Inhibitor is a water based product which is used to protect Ferrous Metals
from flash rusting following a derusting or paint stripping operation. Components which are to be treated with Performance Inhibitor should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water before immersion to ensure the residues from the preceding process are completely removed in order to establish maximum performance and batch life.
Performance Inhibitor should be made up in a clean tank (mild steel, stainless or plastics are suitable) at a concentration of 5-20% by volume with fresh water, any drip tray between the preceding rinse and the inhibitor should be inclined such that drips run back into the rinse stage. Parts are simply immersed into the inhibitor solution and if possible agitated to ensure the solution is able to penetrate into crevices and corners, then, after removal allowed to drain off and dry.
Performance Inhibitor is not intended for outdoor storage under adverse conditions (rain,
damp atmosphere).
The condition of the bath should be checked weekly for contamination (particularly if used following an acidic deruster or stripper) or if performance is deteriorating. The Performance laboratory will provide a suitable test procedure.
