PNSC
PNSC is an inhibited nitrite free liquid spray wash cleaner which is designed for the removal of oils, cutting fluids and swarf from ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as plastic components.
METHOD OF USE:
PNSC should be used in a single stage high pressure spray washing machine at a concentration of 1-2% by volume(10-20 litres per 1000 litres of working solution). In order to ensure maximum corrosion protection on ferrous substances no rinse should be used, if a two stage washing machine is in use then the final stage should also incorporate PNSC in order to maintain the inhibition properties. After washing the parts should ideally be dried by the use of a cold air knife or blow off zone to ensure a stain free finish, particularly on highly machined or polished work.
The PNSC wash may be operated from ambient temperatures up to 700 C at spraying pressures up to 20 bar. Most oils will not be emulsified therefore oil will float to the surface of the wash., this should be removed either continuously using a belt filter and weir system or manually at the end of production.
TESTING AND CONTROL
The concentration of PNSC should be checked periodically as follows: Take a 50ml sample of the working solution and add a few drops of bromo-phenol blue indicator solution. Titrate with 0-1N hydrochloric acid from blue to a yellow colour. 1% PNSC = 9mls of 0.1N hydrochloric acid.
