Revosil Product Range

£0.00

The Performance Revosil Range of products are specifically designed to provide superior cleaning and longer running times on thin film composite reverse osmosis (RO), microfiltration (MF), nanofiltration (NF) and ultrafitration (UF) plant membranes.

The Revosil range of cleaner and disinfectants focus on improving the operational efficiency of membrane systems by offering specific products individually designed to deal with the various problems associated with membrane plant installations.

The Revosil range include the following most commonly used chemicals, others are available on request.

High pH cleaners designed to remove organic foulants and silt such as colloidal silica, clays, organic colour and bacterial slime.

• Revosil 1 - High pH foaming powder cleaner, specially suited to bacterial slime removal.

• Revosil 2 - High pH powder cleaner.

Fill the cleaning tank to the desired volume with RO permeate or DI water. Heat the solution to maximum acceptable (membrane) temperature as this will increase cleaning efficiency. Add sufficient Revosil 2 to create a 2% wt/wt solution if fouling is moderate/heavy, or 1% if fouling is mild. Recycle around cleaning tank to ensure well mixed.

Re-circulate the cleaning solution through each RO system stage, one at a time, for a minimum of 60 minutes at the flow rate recommended by the membrane manufacturer.

If the membranes are heavily fouled and the re-circulated cleaning solution becomes discoloured or turbid, discard as much as 15% of the solution volume. Heavily fouled membranes may also benefit from a soak period ( up to 8hrs ).

Monitor the pH of the solution during the cleaning process. If the pH remains in the desired range ( 10.5 for high pH or 3.5 for low pH ) and solution is not turbid, it may be used to clean subsequent stages. In unlikely event of pH falling out of range, prepare fresh batch of solution and repeat  the process.

When the clean is completed, rinse the membranes by re-circulating RO permeate through each pressure vessel. The cleaner should be flushed through with 5 volumes of water before putting system back on-line.

• Revosil 3 - High pH liquid cleaner.

Revosil 3 is suitable for use on all the major membrane systems.

For moderate to heavy fouling, Revosil 3 should be applied at a nominal strength of 2%.

For lighter fouling, or where frequent cleaning is carried out, satisfactory results may be achieved by using Revosil 3 at 1%.

The cleaning solutions should be applied at the maximum temperature recommended by the manufacturer with care not to exceed the guidelines for pressure.

• Revosil 4 - High pH low-foaming liquid cleaner, suited to cleaning heavily fouled                                                                                                    elements.

Revosil 4 is suitable for use on all the major membrane systems.

For moderate to heavy fouling, Revosil 4 should be applied at a nominal strength of 2%.

For lighter fouling, or where frequent cleaning is carried out, satisfactory results may be achieved by using Revosil 4 at 1%.

The cleaning solutions should be applied at the maximum temperature recommended by the manufacturer with care not to exceed the guidelines for pressure.

• Revosil 5 - High pH liquid for elevation of pH during cleaning

Low pH cleaners designed to remove metal/ metal hydroxide foulants such as aluminium, iron and manganese as well as calcium carbonates scale deposits.

• Revosil 10 - Low pH powdered organic acid cleaner.

For lighter fouling, or where frequent cleaning is carried out, satisfactory results may be achieved by using Revosil 11 at 1%.

The cleaning solutions should be applied at the maximum temperature recommended by  the manufacturer with care not to exceed the guidelines for pressure.

• Revosil 12 - Low pH buffered liquid organic acid cleaner, specifically designed for iron

                         deposits.

Use as per Revosil 11.

Revosil 13 - Low pH liquid inorganic acid cleaner, particularly for cellulose acetate

                         membranes.

Revosil 13 is suitable for use on all the major membrane systems.

For moderate to heavy fouling, Revosil 13 should be applied at a nominal strength of 2%.

For lighter fouling, or where frequent cleaning is carried out, satisfactory results may be achieved by using Revosil 13 at 1%.

The cleaning solutions should be applied at the maximum temperature recommended by the manufacturer with care not to exceed the guidelines for pressure.

Biocides and sterilisers designed to eliminate microbiological fouling and also remove biofilm from pumps, tanks and associated pipework.

• Revosil 20 - Liquid biocide and steriliser.

Liquid Biocide & Steriliser for pumps, tanks and associated pipework.

Revosil 20 is suitable for use on all major membrane systems.

Revosil 20 should be applied at a recommended strength of 2%.

For sanitising, recirculate solution through the membrane system for 30-60 minutes. After circulation it is recommended to use an alkaline cleaner, Revosil 3, to remove any organic breakdown products. For preserving, ensure system is completely full then recirculate for 30 minutes. Ensure manufacturer guidelines for pressure are not exceeded.

• Revosil 21 - Powder biocide and steriliser.

Use as per Revosil 2.

Antiscalants and Dispersants designed to control levels of carbonate and sulphate scales and deposits.

 • Revosil 30 - Multifunctional Acrylic/ Maleic Copolymer.
